Obituary of Michael James Sydor

SYDOR, Michael James It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mike on Sunday, January 30, 2011 in his 77th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Dolly (Brodnicki). Loving father of Susan (Al), Joanne (Stewart) and cherished Pappa of Allison. Dear brother of Nick (Kathy) and brother-in-law of Brenda Brodnicki (Dolchu). Predeceased by sister-in-law Margie Hilton (Roy). He will be held dear in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. He will be especially missed by his coffee friends at Fortinos. Mike touched everyone with his incredible warmth, humour, kindness, generosity of heart and uniqueness of spirit; which will live on in each of us in a special way. Mike was a retired employee of Stelco. He was an avid bowler, spending many happy years at Skyway Lanes. He was also a dedicated volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of our Blessed Lord Parish (Barton St. and Nash Rd. N.) on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 9 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
