We were so sorry to hear of George's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him at R.A. Riddell School where he made many good friends. George enjoyed people and always had a funny story to share. He will be greatly missed.

We're so sorry to hear of George's passing. He was such a great guy. We have fond memories of our families getting together through our 'Ballad' connection. George was a 'larger than life' person with a laugh that we still can hear. Our thoughts are with you.

Driving down our street will not be the same without seeing our dear George on his porch sipping his scotch I presume. He just seemed to us anyway, that his life was so full because he shared it with you Catherine. Anyone who knew him also knew how much his life was complete because you were in it. I am sure whenever you want him near you can place your hand on your heart and you will feel him there. There is no doubt in any of our minds, he will be watching over you forever.
Our blessings and our love.
Samm and David

I have many happy memories of George. I taught with him at Tweedsmuir Middle School as did my wife Judy (at R.A. Riddell). George was a larger-than-life kind of guy with a great sense of humour and a beaming and sometimes furtive smile. He was a great storyteller and would take centre stage whenever he could to relate a tale or two. His peers loved him; his students loved him; his family loved him. What more can a man ask in life? God bless you George...
Our sympathies go out to the Steel family.

From: Terry Patterson George and I both drove for Drive Star. Although we work together quite often it will be our trips to Thunder Bay that I will remember the most. I enjoyed George's company on those 3 day drives. I will miss George as I know you who knew him longer most surely will. My Prayer are with you.
