Obituary of Susie A. Squires

SQUIRES, Susie A. (Mierau) Peacefully at Arbour Creek Long Term Care in Hamilton, on Sunday, July 28, 2013 in her 84th year. She was born April 26, 1930 to John and Mary Mierau in Bassano, Alberta. Beloved wife of Chuck for 48 years (1997). Loving Mother of Larry and his wife Maureen, Brenda and her husband Gary Bartkiewicz, as well as Rick and his wife Carmen. Dear Grandma and Nan of Shari, Christine, Michelle, Nicole, Jesse, Joel and Jessica. Great-grandma to Sarah, Alyssa, Emma, Ava, and Ethan. Susie looked forward to her sibling reunion every Fall and will be missed by her sisters Mary Giesbrecht and Erna Ridley, sister-in-law Lorraine (Tom) and her brothers Ernie (Effie) and Harry Mierau. She was predeceased by her brother Jack. Aunt Susie will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Susie was retired from J.I. Case (International Harvester). Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, August 13 from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. Celebration of Life to follow. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, The Red Cross, or to a charity of your choice. The Family would like to thank the nursing staff of Clayton House (2nd floor) with a "special thank you" to Dahnielyn for the love, care and compassion she has shown Mom for the past few years.
