Obituary of Doris Louise Skirrow

SKIRROW, Doris Louise (nee Chapman) 1934 -2011 Peacefully, on Sunday, February 20, 2011, Doris went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Earl, sons Geoff (Christine) and Scott (Lois) and grandchildren Kathryn, Jessica, Noah and Alexis. She will be missed by her loving sister Fay (Fred) Tyrrell. Doris was an elementary school teacher in Port Dover, Hamilton and Stoney Creek. She also taught Sunday school and Bible classes while attending Elliott Heights Baptist Church and Stoney Creek Alliance Church. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of the CCU Step Down Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital for all their care and support. Family and friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, February 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be on Thursday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Paramount Drive Alliance Church. If desired, memorial donations may be made in memory of Doris to the Gideon Bible Society.
