Obituary of Ardella Shinn

SHINN, Ardella March 27, 1915 - May 1, 2012 Ardella went to be with her Lord, peacefully at Albright Manor, Beamsville, on Tuesday May 1, 2012 in her 98th year. Loving mother of Gloria Horning and Dianne (John) Young and son-in-law Harold MacDonald. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard (1987), parents Edna and Joseph Irwin, her three sisters and three brothers, by her daughters, Arlene Shinn (2006) and Joan MacDonald (2009) and her son-in-law Gord Horning (2007). Ardella was adored by her 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her sisters-in-law, Irene Angold and Florence Shinn. Ardella was employed by the Harbour Rescue Mission for many years. She was a Charter Member of the First Church of The Nazarene and attended faithfully until her move to Beamsville. Special thanks to the caring Staff at Albright Manor for their compassion for Ardella. Visitation at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family committal service will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
