Obituary of Roman Severn
SEVERN, Roman
Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the age of 87. Roman was born on October 13th, 1925, in the town of Kamen Kashirskiy, in Poland. His family emigrated to Canada, landing in Quebec City, on July 6, 1929, and ended up in Toronto where they stayed for 4 years before moving to a farm in Waterford where they grew grain and raised chickens. In 1942 Roman worked for Cockshutt Aircraft Division building plywood fuselages and wings for the de Havilland Mosquito bomber. In 1946 Roman moved to Hamilton, where he worked for the Rae Machine Tool Co. Later Roman worked as a press helper at International Harvester in Hamilton, where he would eventually retire as a Shop Foreman. Golf was always one of Roman's passions, playing in Myrtle Beach, Florida, and Hawaii, as well as membership at Kings Forest in Hamilton. Predeceased by his wife Barbara (2005) and son Mark (2006), he will be sadly missed by son Paul, daughter Carla (Matthews), granddaughter Lisa, grandson Gregory and great-granddaughter Ava, sister Fedora, brother Sam (Penny), sisters-in-law Elsie and Marie, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation will follow. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at
