BLACKMORE, Ewart Wallace BSc., MBA, P. Eng.
Peacefully passed away at his residence in Grimsby on Friday, June 10, 2011, at the age of 94. A survivor of the 1917 Halifax Explosion, he was born on March 29, 1917 in Halifax to Samuel and Laura Udy (Wharton) Blackmore. Beloved husband of Bertha Lillian (Phillips) Blackmore and loving father of Phillip (Wendy) and Richard (Joan). Dear grandpa of Ian (Joanne), Samuel, Nathan and step-children Jennifer, James and George. Dear great-grandpa to Laura Lyn and Sarah. Wally was a long time employee of Domtar prior to retiring and a member of the United Church of Canada. He was a member of the Masonic Corinthian Lodge #513 since 1941. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, June 14th at 1 p.m. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
