Obituary of Guenter (John) Schultz

SCHULTZ, Guenter (John) With saddened hearts and wonderful memories, we announce the passing of Guenter Schultz in his 87th year on Monday, July 5, at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Loving and devoted wife, Anne for 62 years, his son Manfred and wife Carol (Vancouver, B.C.) and daughter Christina with partner Jeff (Hamilton). Loving grandfather of Meriah, Karyna, Julianna, Amara, Christie and Sarah, Guenter had always demonstrated his love of life and steadfast spirit. Having the courage and vision in 1956, he came to Canada from Germany to provide a better life for his family. Over the next 35 years he established himself in the construction industry working successfully as a long standing member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 67. Guenter and Anne shared many fulfilling years exploring and travelling throughout Europe and their beloved second home, Mexico and Thailand during many years of retirement. He will be lovingly remembered as a kind, gentle and helpful gentleman, father and provider. Many special thanks to the staff of the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their compassionate care and ability to make the best out of life’s last moments. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Guenter’s Life will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday, July 12 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
