Obituary of Hilda Sayers

SAYERS, Hilda (nee Shutt) Born September 30, 1923 in Sheffield, England With heavy hearts and loved ones at her side the James Sayers family would like to share the gentle passing of Hilda - their wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Monday, January 9, 2012. With fond memories Hilda will be missed by her loving husband Jim, her children Lorraine Bates, Diane, Michele and Martin Futrell, Jim and Kathrine, Colleen and Kevin Cillis and by her sister Winifred Rorke and family. Hilda will also be missed by her grandchildren: Jennifer, Yvonne and Mike Tomasin, Kevin and Corrie Bates, Elaine and Marc Raby, Steven and Sarah Bates; Chris and Colin Shanahan; Matthew and Crystal, Nathan and Marie, Danny and Zachary Nash; James, Michael and Nicholas Sayers; Sean abd Angelica, Ashley and Katie Cillis and also missed by her great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Ethan and Tristan Raby, Nicholas Tomasin and Autumn Nash. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care Hilda received from all the staff at The Clarion Nursing Home especially the excellent palliative care she received over the past week. Friends and family will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, January 11, from 7-9 and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 with Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Hilda's parish, St. Francis Xavier, Stoney Creek, 304 #8 HWY, on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
