Obituary of Violet Bistrovich

BISTROVICH, Violet It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Violet Bistrovich, early on Saturday, December 12, 2009, in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her loving husband, Frank (1968). Devoted mother to Ken Bistrovich (Susan) of Grimsby and Sharon Cummings of Burlington. Cherished grandmother of Ken Bistrovich (Katherine), of Hamilton, Marney Smieszek (Bart), Leigh Furness (Jordan) and Adam Bistrovich. All of Grimsby. Adored great-grandmother of Tyler, Gavin, Brodie, Allie, Maya, Morgyn, Abby and Julia. Violet is also very missed by sister Isabel Chehowski (Al) and sister-in-law Gene Dereta along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to the team at West Lincoln Hospital for their support and to The Orchards Retirement Home staff for their great care of, and affection for, Violet. Visitation is scheduled at DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 between 7 and 9 p.m. with a Celebration of Violet's life following at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Interment follows at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. "She was the heart of our family."
