RIKIC, Zivka (Vicky) It is with profound regret that we announce the passing of our much loved mother, grandmother (“Bubby”) and mother-in-law at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, May 26, 2012. In her 79th year, Zivka passed with her family and loved ones at her side. She was the cherished wife of the late Trifun (Tom) for 48 years, as well as the loving mother of Raymond (Radovan) and Maria. She will be dearly missed by her daughter-in-law, Joyce (Radojka) and son-in-law, Alan McCarthy, and her grandchildren Victoria, Julia, Raymond and Sophia. Zivka leaves behind her Kumovi and many relatives here in Canada, Gomirje, Republika Srpska and the USA. She is predeceased by her parents, Stevo and Marija, and siblings, Naca, Dusan, Rade and Nikica. Zivka was a lifelong member of the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral and the Circle of Serbian Sisters (KCC). She will be fondly remembered by the many customers of her hair salon who became her lifelong friends. The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful doctors that worked so hard to ease her pain and suffering - Doctors Mullens, Cox, Khalidi, Carlisle with special recognition of Dr. Peter Powers, Zivka’s guardian angel for several years. Resting at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Pomen at 8 p.m. Funeral Service from St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 149 Nash Road South, on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with The Very Reverend Father Djuro Samac officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Hematology Blood Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
