Obituary of Jo Ann Ramsay

RAMSAY, Jo Ann (nee Dunn) Peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, May 9, 2010 with her loving family by her side at the age of 62. Cherished and loving mother of Tara (Brad) of Burlington, and Dan (Cindy) of Ancaster. Loving sister of John (Carole), predeceased by her parents Doris and James "Red" Dunn. Will also be missed by Rick Ramsay. Proud Nana of four grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Jack and Rachel. These four children were the strength and sunshine in her life. Her big warm hugs will remain in their hearts forever. Jo Ann will be sadly missed by many cousins, niece and nephews. Jo Ann had touched the lives of so many people that gifted her with so many special and wonderful close friends that will miss her humour and kindness everyday. Special thanks to Dr. Ellis and nurse Sally at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, and all the caring staff that have helped throughout the years. Warmest and deepest thanks to the loving, and generous staff and volunteers at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington. Jo Ann spent her final few months at the hospice sharing stories and laughter with the many friends she so quickly made during her stay. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 11 a.m.
