Obituary of Franco Pomponio

POMPONIO, Franco Peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2013, surrounded by family, at Dundurn Place Care Centre, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Vera for 54 years. Dearest father of Silvio Michael. Devoted son and son-in-law of the late Silvio and Maria Pomponio and the late Valentino and Loreta Granata. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Tosello and Elia Pomponio, Lina and Antonio Gobetti and late brother-in-law and sister- in-law-Antonio and Gilsa Granata.Dearly missed by nieces and nephews and their families; Vanna, Nick, Vanesah and Ryan (Ely) Farina, Antonette, Valentino, Brandon and Lucas Dal Bello, Silvio David, Rose, Christian and Alexander Pomponio and Nadia Gobbetti. The family wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Dundurn Place for their compassion and care. Frank was a retired employee of the Wentworth County Board of Education. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday from 5-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Sunday at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Highway 8 and Green Rd., Stoney Creek.
