Obituary of Mary Place

PLACE, Mary Suddenly, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in her 76th year. Beloved wife of the late Ron Place (2006). Dear mother of Dan and his wife Cathie, Dave and his wife Joanne, Joanne and her husband Phil Valastro, Rob and his wife Wendy. Lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren Caitlin, Brooke, Kendra, Codi, Spencer, Connor, Logan, Felicia, Alexa, Philip, Caitlyn and Patrick. Sister of Jean and her husband Barry Baine, Jim Twaddle and his wife Roberta, Don Mackenzie and his late wife Helen. Sister-in-law to Jim Place and his wife Marlene, Sharon and her husband Archie Bowman and Janice and her husband Ed Browning. Mary was recognized for her volunteer efforts at the Battlefield Park and Museum and an executive Member of the Stoney Creek Historical Society. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave. Dr., Stoney Creek, on Friday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 7-9 p.m. (Due to the Stoney Creek Flag Day Parade there will be no afternoon visitation on Saturday.) Funeral Service will be held at the Stoney Creek United Church (Corner of King St. and Lake Ave.) on Sunday, May 31 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Center, 699 Concession St., Hamilton L8V 5C2 would be appreciated by the family.
