Obituary of Nancy Jane Phillips

PHILLIPS, Nancy Jane After a lengthy and painful illness, Nancy Jane Phillips (formerly Morrissey, nee Marr) passed from our world, at home in Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Nancy was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and spent a good portion of her life in the Boston, Ma. area as well as living in Ottawa for nearly 10 years. Beloved wife of Henry (Harry) Phillips. Loved mother of Lynsey (Paul) Murray, Nancy Morrissey, Laura (Rich) Toli and step daughters Marie (Craig) Beattie and Helen (Wayne) Campbell. Nancy will be sorely missed by her grandchildren; Isabel and Angela Murray, Richie Toli, Jordan and Lucas Campbell and Kelty Beattie. Dear sister of David (Cathie) Marr, her twin sister Moira (Andy) Verth and sisters in law Mary Simpson and Sheila (Donny) Christmas. Nancy will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews and extended family, as well as by her friends at the Wednesday Matinee bowling league in Stoney Creek and the seniors swimming group at Valley Park Pool. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME 36 Lake Ave. Dr., Stoney Creek on Saturday, October 25th from noon until the memorial service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Nancy’s name to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Victorian Order of Nursing would be appreciated.
