Obituary of Josie Patrick

PATRICK, Josie January 4, 2013, just a few months short of her 97th birthday. At St Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, with a brief bout of pneumonia, her heart just gave out. She joins the love of her life, Steve, who predeceased her in 2005. Also predeceased by her sisters Mary and Phyllis, brother Emil and granddaughter-in-law Amanda. She leaves her brother Walter Fundy, loving daughters Mildred (Bill Pridmore), Alice (Erich Schmuck) and Joan (Elgin Benson), her beloved grandchildren Rob, Jamie (Katie), Andrew (DJ) and Monika, and great grandsons Jackson and Samuel. Born in Pathfinder, Alberta, she started her career as a teacher, but her greatest career was raising and caring for her family. She became a wartime bride in Montreal and later settled in Winona for almost 30 years, before moving to York, Ontario. Special thanks to the support workers and staff at the Willowgrove Long Term Care Residence in Ancaster. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, January 11th at 10.30 a.m Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
