Obituary of Donna Marie Nordoff

NORDOFF, Donna Marie (nee Giavedoni) Surrounded by love and guided by her faith, our dearest mom, nonni, sister and friend Donna, gracefully entered into eternal peace in her 67th year on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Mom is reunited with her wonderfully devoted and deeply missed husband Bob (2007). She guided her children Andrea Boria (Marc) and Craig (Lori) with selfless, unending love each and every day. She embraced being “Nonni” with tears of pride and joy for her angels Lauren, Julia, Jonah, Sydney and Jaxon. She filled their lives with love, laughter and special moments which they will treasure always. Mom always taught us that God only gives what we can handle. We know this to be true because He blessed our family with such endearing friends to help support us each and every day. Our most sincere love and gratitude to our special “aunties” – Doreen, Sue, Gerry, Julie, Jackie, MaryAnn, Lynda, Vicki, Barb and Rolande. Your friendship with mom was priceless and taught us what friendship should be. Your love for us is so deeply cherished. A special note of thanks to Fr. Martin and Fr. Sardo for your spiritual support. Mom’s faith was an essential and special part of her life – it strengthened her in times of sadness and allowed her to celebrate her blessings. Dearest sister and sister-in-law to Nello (Marie), Loretta (Kurney) and Paul (Flora). Special, loving aunt and cousin to many in Canada and Italy. Mom believed that special angels were sent to help her along the way and regardless of the outcome, she had the utmost respect and appreciation for her doctors – Dr. D. Robinson, Dr. S. Trainor, Dr. M. Levine and Karen. Thank you for giving mom comfort and peace throughout her journey. Visitation will take place at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 1-4 and 5-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, Highway #8 and King Street East, Stoney Creek on Friday, February 11th at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. In Donna’s memory, donations to the Bright Run for Breast Cancer Research through the Juravinski Cancer Clinic would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca “We were so blessed to be chosen to be her family. She enriched many lives with her genuine, selfless, giving ways.
