Obituary of Winnifred Jenny Nelson

NELSON, Winnifred Jenny (nee Haydon) Peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2008 at The Village of Tansley Woods, Burlington, surrounded by her family. Born December 28, 1926 in Hamilton. Married for 63 years to not only her husband but best friend Douglas William Nelson. Loved mother of (Rick) Richard Nelson and Linda Zabolotney and Jeff Haydon. Grandmother of Shane Zabolotney and Faith Nelson, and great-grandmother of Nevaeh Zabolotney. Dear sister to Bill Haydon and Janet Spieijer. Predeceased by her sister Agnes Turbitt and brother Donald Haydon. Winnie will be remembered as a loving mother, a wonderful painter, gardener and cook. She was an elegant and classy lady with a great sense of humour. A celebration of Winnifred's life will be held at the Church of Our Saviour The Redeemer, 25 Lake Avenue South, Stoney Creek on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. with visitation the hour prior.
