Obituary of Norman Murray Morris

MORRIS, Norman Murray After a valiant fight against cancer, peacefully at home with his wife at his side, on Friday, July 31, 2009, one day before his 71st birthday. Dearly beloved husband of Nancy (nee Inrig) for 50 years. Predeceased by daughter Debra McAloney. Dearly loved father of Suzanne and her husband Morris Heymans, Laura and her husband Edward Johnston and Steven and his wife Cathy. Father-in-law to Tim McAloney. Special "Grumpsy" to Melissa and her husband Adam Franklin, Sarah McAloney and her fiance Brandon, Brittany McAloney, Shaun, Robert and Wayne Heymans and Dallas and Ashley Morris. Great-grandfather to his Little Princess Hailee Franklin. Predeceased by his parents Violet (Howitt) and Rallo (Norman) and by his brother John. Treasured cousin of Lorraine Howitt, Marie Kolmer, Michael, Jerry and Danny Howitt. Will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Donelda Martin, Jacquelyn (Roger) Pearcey and Peggy (Peter) Buckland. Treasured uncle of Terri Pearcey, Kim (Andrew) Norgate, Melissa (Tom) Buckland, Brett (Heather) Martin, Jeremy (Sara) Martin and Joel (Sarah) Buckland. Special thanks to CCAC and Norm's special friend Jennifer Ramsay and the Winterberry Heights Church family especially Major Greg Simmonds for their compassionate care and support. Norm was a retired employee of Parkdale Works, Stelco and was a Director and Past President at the former Stelco Finishing Works Credit Union. Cremation has taken place. A memorial Service will be held at Winterberry Heights Salvation Army Church, 300 Winterberry Dr., Stoney Creek on Sunday, August 9 at 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Winterberry Heights Church would be appreciated by the family.
