Over the years, Uncle Volney proudly introduced his niece from Down Under, to his beloved Canada.
Wonderful memories include Niagara Falls, scrambled eggs and bacon with maple syrup and the largest car I had ever seen!
I experienced a typical Canadian home and summer. And met Uncle Volney and Ruth’s close friends with a backyard pool. It was heaven.
My uncle was fascinated about Australia - our reverse seasons, time zone and in particular, boxing kangaroos.
Uncle Volney I will always remember your cheeky sense of humour and smiling eyes; the sweet “okay now” to introduce sentences and air-conditioned comfort as we drove from A to B. I was so pleased to see you in 2011.
Thinking of you.
Much love.

Monty was such a good, kind, gentle man. He will be sadly missed. My condolences to all his family - he spoke often of them and would share pictures and stories with us. I am glad he is at rest now from his troubles with his health, and I'm thankful he was able to stay in his home to the end. Love from: Suzy (Butlin) Konick and Family.

From: Marion and Teresa Turner and Dawn Roherty. So sorry to hear of Monty's passing. He called Teresa just last week and said he too would be going into a nursing home. (Marion is in the Wellington) He was a great man and visited us often after Ruth's death. Hope his passing was peaceful and that he is in a better place.

Monty was a wonderful friend to me and my family. He will always be remembered by all of us. When you heard his big booming laugh you knew that all was right in the world.
He introduced us to Hopping John, Appleton Estate overproof, and Jamaican Christmas Cake. He also taught me how to dance!
My kids thought he was the best babysitter ever.
Time to rest, my friend - re-united with his beloved Ruth.
