MONIGHAN, Rodney M.
Rod’s journey here on earth began in 1946 and has ended on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 but, a new one has begun. He fought his cancer bravely for 4 years and passed away at home. He leaves behind for now, his wife of 39 years Jean (Bower). Rod is survived by his son Joseph (Kathy), grandson J.R., Lynette Amalfi Hinkle, step- grandchildren Emily and Crissy Gallagher. Rod will be sadly missed by his sister Barbara Burke, brothers Joe (Sue), Brian (Helen), and his beloved pals Molly and Brutis. Loving brother in law of Sandy and Glenn Armstrong. Uncle Rod will be missed by his nieces and nephews Ron (Kathy), Donna, Julie (Tim), Jennifer (Sonny), Susan (Stuart), Robert (Paula), David, Sabrina, Wade (Hailey), Kelly (Kevin), Bradley and predeceased by his parents Joe and Stella Monighan Rod was a short/long haul truck driver and worked before his illness for Atripco-Mohawk Services. Rod has asked that it be casual dress (T-shirt/blue jeans) as he was a car guy (63 Ford Falcon conv) and belonged to Peggy Sue’s Cruisers. In lieu of flowers, we request donations to Rod’s friends at the SPCA or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Friends will be received at the DONALD V.BROWN FUNERAL HOME 36 Lake Avenue, Drive, Stoney Creek (905-662-2948), Friday from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place in the chapel Saturday September 13, 2008 at 11a.m. Interment, Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Joe and I would like to thank all the family and friends for their support, nurses, doctors and receptionist at McMaster 3Z ward for their kindness and help.
