MILLER, Joan Arlene It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in her 72nd year, after a long courageous battle with cancer. The Lord saw how tired she was fighting the pain and he called her home. Loving daughter of the late Max and Grace Miller and her brother Paul. Joan will be missed by nieces Trisha (Mike) Ancona, Lisa (Scott) Hayes, great-nieces Abby and Nora, great-nephews Jordan and Luca, cousin Sheila Puritt, aunt Sylvia, caregivers and longtime friends Jackie and Evan Sherk. Longtime friends of Doris and Bill Smith and Family ,also friends Joyce Thomas, Ann and Len Young, Dave Barry, Gerry Nelligan - her football buddy and the Nelligan family, Connie Boncori, Dr. John Van Ryn, Grace and Tina from the BMO Stoney Creek Branch. Everyone remembers Joan not only for her kindness and caring ways but her beautiful smile. Joan was an avid N.F.L. Football fan, and an animal lover especially her dogs the latest being her Westie, Sadie. Sincere thanks to Dr. Abe Szereszewski, Dr. Samantha Winemaker, nurse Betty Ann Griffin, and primary nurse Jennifer Ramsay and all the P.S.W.’ s especially Lisa Robson, Emily and Cecilia Teddora, Bayshore Health, C.C.A.C. & St. Elizabeth Nursing. At Joan’s request there will be no visitation. There will be a Graveside Service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton on Wednesday, April 27th at 11 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, Stoney Creek. In lieu of flowers , expressions of sympathy to the Good Shepherd, S.P.C.A., or charity of your choice would be appreciated. A Kind Gentle Soul, loved by all.
