Obituary of Joseph Walter Mikich

MIKICH, Joseph Walter Suddenly, in Hamilton, with his son by his side on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in his 78th year. Born in Schumacher, Ontario on November 17, 1934. Predeceased by his cherished parents Joseph and Katherine. Cherished father and best friend of Jeff (Natalie). Devoted grandfather of Ashley, his “peanut”. Loved brother of Anne (the late Alan), Pauline (Wilf) and the late Mary (the late Don). Dear uncle of Jocelyn (Tom), Joseph, Mark (Donna), Donald (Kari), Kim (Wayne), Whitney (Don), Amy (Dexter), Daphne, Candice (Rick) and their respective families. Fondly remembered and sadly missed by Sheri and Tina. Joe was a welder at Dofasco from 1963-1977 and from 1977-2012 was a proud 35 year member of UA Local 67, where he shed his smile and humour to many brothers and sisters and offered his help in the weld shop where he continued to work until his last days. Special thanks to the cardiac care teams of Hamilton General and Juravinski Hospitals. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
