Obituary of Valentino (Ronald) Mercuri

MERCURI, Valentino (Ronald) Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, in his 80th year, with family by his side. Beloved husband of Edna (nee Gamelin) of 57 years, loved father of Joanne Abbey (James), Craig Mercuri (Marie), Janice Mercuri-Stanhope (Steve Thurley), Paul Mercuri (Betsy), Lori Kuzyk (Gary). Will be sadly missed by his 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his brother Bill Mercuri (Colleen) sisters-in-law Dorothy Mercuri, Rosemary Papiez, and brother-in-law MartinGamelin (Clara). Predeceased by his parents Antonietta and Basil Mercuri, brothers Armand Mercuri and Mario Tanchioni, his sister Prima Papiez, Father and Mother-in-law Edward and Mary Gamelin, brothers-in-law Stanley Papiez and Felix Papiez and son-in-law Bernie Stanhope Jr. He will also be missed by many family and friends. Friends are invited to Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment tofollow at Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
