MERCURI, Armand Joseph
"Sometimes a smile happens in a flash. The memory of it can last a lifetime." Dr. Latimer Beloved husband and father; treasured grandfather, brother and uncle, sadly passed away on March 7, 2009, in his 84th year, after a lengthy battle. Much loved husband of Dorothy (nee Reeves) for 59 years. Beloved father of Raymond (Francine) Mercuri, of Burlington, Brian (Tamara) Mercuri, of Beamsville and Carol Anne Mercuri, of Stoney Creek. Treasured grand-father of Justin, Taylor, Nicholas and Melissa. Missed by his loving companions Joshua, Jordan and the infamous Trevor. Sadly missed by his brothers, Bill (Colleen) Mercuri, of Grimsby, Ronald (Edna) Mercuri, of Stoney Creek, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Prima Papiez, and his mother and father, Antionetta and Basil Mercuri formerly of Birch Avenue, Hamilton. Sadly missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Gordon (Mary) Reeves and family, of Stoney Creek, and Ruby Kring, of Stoney Creek and family, and will be sadly missed by his many dedicated and wonderful friends. A graduate of Cathedral Boys School, Armand successfully achieved master tool and die maker with a long career at Westinghouse, in later years as Purchasing Agent for Neo Industries. He made many lifetime friendships during these years and treasured each and every one. We thank you all for visiting and bringing comfort and companionship. The family would sincerely like to thank the medical community for all the care and support received. The ambulance attendants, first responders and Home Care Workers. A special thank you to Dr. Harper and the Palliative Care Team at The Hamilton General Hospital. Home Care Worker, Heather always brought a big smile. We would like to thank each and every nurse that cared for Armand; we do not know all your names, but please know that your care, compassion and dedication helped us all through a very difficult and trying time. God Bless! We would also like to sincerely thank Dr. Hardgraves of the Firestone Clinic for managing Armand's condition, giving us more cherished time together. Cremation has taken place. Our family has entrusted the arrangements to the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue, Stoney Creek. Visitation shall take place on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 12 noon until the start of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Firestone Clinic, St. Joseph's Healthcare, 50 Charlton Avenue E., Hamilton L8N 4A6.
