Obituary of John Mazur

MAZUR, John Peacefully at Blackadar Continuing Care on Friday, November 13, 2009 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Sophie (Wenslawek) for 69 years. Dear father of Arlene and Tom Moore of Hamilton (and their children Greg and Kyu, Kasia and Domenic) and John (Jack) and Linda of Akron, Ohio (and their children Jay and Krissy, Arlene, Monica and Erik, Matthew). Lovingly remembered by nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Stanley and his wife Mary. John was a former employee of Stelco with 42 years of service and was a Veteran of WWII. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Church, 200 Mt. Albion Rd., on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. Entombment Our Lady of Victory. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
