Obituary of Carmel Mary Matheson

Matheson, Carmel Mary In loving memory of our Mother and Nana, who passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2007, in her 81st year. Carmel Mary Matheson of Stoney Creek, born January 10, 1927 in Chatham, New Brunswick, widow of Gordon L. Matheson who predeceased her on August 29, 1984. Carmel and Gord raised five children Dianne (Mike) Bernacci of Stoney Creek, Debbie (Tim) Palmar of Alberta, Cathy (Lee) Brownell of Cayuga, David and Michael Matheson. Sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren Brandon, Marcus and Kayla Bernacci, Callon and Alicia Palmar, Jimmy, Brad and Jessie Brownell, Melissa Matheson, Justin Matheson and Chelsey and Carly Matheson. Carmel had two brothers Joe Harriman of Hamilton and John Harriman who is recently deceased and two sisters Jean White Law and Ann Harriman who are both deceased. We would like to thank the nursing staff at the Ridgewiew Long Term Care Centre for their care and kindness as our mother resided there for the past two years. Family and friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m. Internment Mountainview Gardens. While Alzheimer disease came and robbed our mother of her memory, it could not take away our memories of her. We will miss you, Mom. Now you can rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
