Obituary of Thomas Lorne Martin

MARTIN, Thomas Lorne “Ross” Suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at West Haldimand General Hospital on Monday, May 14, 2012 in his 80th year. Loving father of Michael and his wife Kathy of York, Scott and his wife Leslie of Puslinch, and Alyson Gibbs of Hamilton. Cherished grandfather of Katelyn, Joshua, Julia, Simon, Matthew, Paige, Sydney and great-grandfather of Atticus. Loved brother of Geraldine Beach and the late Wally of Brantford. Ross will be fondly remembered by Patricia Vasey and her husband Ron, as well as many other family and friends. Ross retired in 1994 after a career in information systems at Stelco, Canada Systems Group and Purolator Courier. Ross was active in the community volunteering with the Glanbrook Home Support Program and the Binbrook Agricultural Society. He was a founding member of the Ontario Regional Lily Society, past vice president of the North American Lily Society and recipient of the Slate-MacDaniel Award as well as a member of Binbrook United Church and member of the choir for 60 years. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Binbrook United Church, 2623 Binbrook Rd., Binbrook on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. Memorial Donations to Glanbrook Home Support would be appreciated by the family.
