Obituary of Douglas Milton Martin

MARTIN, Douglas Milton Passed away peacefully, at his home, on Saturday, August 25, 2012 in his 85th year. Devoted and loved husband of Erla of 62 years. Cherished father of Larry and his wife Michele, Stephen and his wife Joanne, Paul and his wife Lori. Loved grandfather of Shawn (Jenn), Lee (Liz), Chad (Jenna), Scott (Melissa), Stephanie (Brian), Greg (Heather), Barry (Bonnie), Brian (Shannon). Dear great-grandfather of Courtney, Autumn, Michael, Casey, Hannah, Emma, Brayden and Jack. Brother of Lois, Shirley and Chuck (Mary). Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Doug was a past president of Blackheath Lions Club and on the board when Binbrook Seniors Retirement Complex was built. He also started the Binbrook Little League Ball Park and was voted Farmer of the Year in 1979. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Binbrook United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
