Obituary of Joanne Marion Marchis

MARCHIS, Joanne Marion After a lengthy illness, Joanne passed away at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, June 17, 2009, in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Matthew and his wife Carolyn. Dear grandmother of Elizabeth and Alexia. Loved sister of Iris and her husband Ed Tkach and John Palychuk and his wife Dawn. Predeceased by her parents John and Ann Palychuk and her sister Gloria. Will also be sadly missed by her mother-in-law Josie Marchis, her sister-in-law Donna and her husband Dave Millen and several nieces and nephews. Family was very important to Joanne. She was a hard working lady, working as a Care Giver for the elderly in the community. Joanne loved the theatre, cooking and was well liked by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Nursing Staff at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and all of the Home Care Staff for all of their compassion and care. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers at the funeral home on Monday at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 23rd at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, (Kenilworth Ave. and Cannon St.) Cremation and a private family interment to follow.
