BATES, Richard (Dick) (Retired employee of Dofasco with 38 years of service, a member of the Dofasco Retirees and the New Horizons Seniors Group) At Emmanuel House on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in his 75th year. Dick Bates, beloved husband of Joan for 53 years. Dear father of Sharon Worron (Gary), Joann Foster (George), Michael (Cheryl) and Pat Stones (Harold). Loved grandfather of Jason (Natalie), Renée, Adam (Sherry), Jennifer (Ed), Kimberley, Vicki (Derrek), Keri, Matt, Ashley and Brad. Great-grandfather of Travis and Téah. Predeceased by his parents William and Bertha. Brother of Art, Dan and Joyce Pecuh (Joe). Uncle of Kathy and Christine. Dick will be missed by his long time friends Pat and Bill Slade. The family will receive friends at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, March 13, 2009 from 12:00 until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
