Obituary of Susan Mansbridge

MANSBRIDGE, Susan (Cant) Sadly, our mom passed away on October 25, 2012. She was fortunate to have loved and been loved by two husbands, Bill Cant, (deceased in 1995) and Dr. Fred Mansbridge whom we lost in 2012. She was a most beloved mother of her children and their spouses, Bill (deceased 2012) (Carol) Cant, Cheryl (Roger) Moses, Mary (Burt) Thombs, Norman (Valerie) Cant, and Patricia (Charlie) Carubba. She is also survived by her sisters Cecile Viola and Vera Park. She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, April Petit (Dennis), Dawn Cant Elliott (Roger), Craig Moses (Marie), Evan Moses (Jessi), David Cadman, Scott Cadman (Jaclyn), Trevor Cant, Kathryn Cant, Sarah Carubba, and Charlie Carubba. She was great-grandmother to Jesse Petit and special grandma GG to Jacob, Joshua and Ashlyn Cadman. Fred’s children, Dr. Bruce and Neil, Shirley and their children Heather and John became an important part of her family. During World War II, she served in the Women’s Division of the R.C.A.F.. She was also a respected primary teacher at Memorial School, Stoney Creek. As an active member of Wesley United Church, Fruitland, she was known as the queen of bazaar preserves. Private family interment to take place. Funeral Service will be held Wesley United Church, Hwy #8 and Fruitland Rd., Stoney Creek, TODAY, Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. with visitation ½ hour prior to service. Reception to follow. While Mom was an avid gardener and loved flowers, she believed that they should be left in gardens, so they are gratefully declined. If you wish, donations can be made to the charity of choice.
