Obituary of Jeanne Marie Manders

MANDERS, Jeanne Marie (nee Mitchell) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jeanne, on Sunday, January 4, 2009 in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of Lloyd for 54 years. Devoted mother of Christopher (Anne), Patti-Ann (Paul), Deborah (Danny), John (Linda), Sandra (Carl) and Lisa (Steve). Loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Jeanne will be missed by her siblings Gordon, Charles, Joyce and Leslie. Predeceased by parents Charles and Angeline and her brothers Lloyd and Terrance. While raising a family, Jeanne worked to attain her degree in nursing and subsequently worked at the Hamilton General Hospital as a Registered Nurse and Operating Room Technician for 30 years. The achievements of the medical teams, her colleagues, the friendships and subsequent memories through these years were fondly cherished by her. Special appreciation to the close and devoted friends whom mom loved, especially Nancy. Thank you, to the nurses and staff of the Hamilton General Hospital for their compassionate care. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday January 7, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers Wednesday Evening at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Hwy 8, Stoney Creek, Ontario on Thursday January 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
