Obituary of Carol Margaret Luxon

LUXON, Carol Margaret (Fletcher) December 18, 1944 - April 5, 2013 After a valiant 2 year struggle, Carol lost her fight with life. She leaves to mourn, the love of her life and husband David for 47 years, her son Ken and his beautiful wife Tracey, her beautiful daughter Kelly Thomas and her husband Chris. She absolutely adored her 4 grandchildren; Zachary, Nicholas, Alexander and Lauren (her little Princess). She is also survived by her sister Lois and many true friends, nieces, nephews and extended family. Her Joy and Happiness excelled when she was with her family. Carol’s career as a Registered Practical Nurse was also a big part of her life, working at the Henderson General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Home Care. Carol was a faithful member of the choir at Stoney Creek United Church, for 41 years. A special thank you to Carol’s best friend, Gail McQueen, who never failed to comfort and console her these past 2 years. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Okarawa at the Juravinski Cancer Centre and Dr. Shargall at St. Joseph’s Hospital, to Dr. Koziak, C.C.A.C. and the Pain Management Team at Juravinski Hospital along with the nurses on E4 ward; the compassion and care toward Carol, will never be forgotten. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Stoney Creek United Church, (Lake Ave. S and King St., Stoney Creek) on Wednesday, April 10 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Firestone Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital would be appreciated.
