Obituary of Winnifred Jeanne Lucas

LUCAS, Winnifred Jeanne (nee Andrew) Peacefully with her family by her side on January 17, 2012, in her 84th year, went to be with her Lord. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Lucas (2008). Loving mother of Linda (Gary) Pope, Marilyn (Robin) Ellis and Paul (Cathy) Lucas. Proud grandma of Jason and Sharon, David, Sarah, Hannah and Joshua, Allison and Danielle. Winnie came to Hamilton and trained as a R.N. at the Hamilton General Hospital graduating in Class 50A. Over her lifetime Winnie was a member of First United, Stoney Creek Alliance and Paramount Drive Alliance Churches where she volunteered, using her leadership gifts and beautiful alto voice to bless others. Special thanks go to all the staff at Extendicare and Dr. Tuttle who cared for her during her struggle with Alzheimer’s. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 23rd at 11 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery .
