Obituary of Fred Lintack

LINTACK, Fred Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, in the early morning of July 7, 2009, in his 86th year. Beloved son of the late John and Gladys and brother to Walt, Olive, Mary, Jenny, Rose, Ed, John and babies Helen and John. Proud father of sons Rick and Wayne and proud father-in-law and grandfather of Rick's wife Angel and daughters Julia and Ava and Wayne's wife Kim and daughter Cara. In 1981, Fred lost his beloved wife Nellie. After much grieving, he was blessed with a new wife Annette and her family, George and Donna Gagnon and their sons Andre and Aaron, Robert Gagnon and his daughter Chantal, Parise and Jim Milligan and their daughters Kim and Kristen and grandchildren Brenna, Tova, Kayden, Dylan and Emma. Fred was a community builder; a founding member of the Winona Men's Club, an usher at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, a Councillor and Deputy Reeve of the Township of Saltfleet from 1961 to 1971 and Councillor for the City of Stoney Creek from 1973 to 1985. After his term on council, he served on the Stoney Creek Hydro Commission and the Hamilton Region Conservation Authority. Fred's long goodbye began in 2005 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Near the end of his life, he was able to look us in the eye with an awareness that had been lost for some time. He is now with Nellie and all of the family and friends that have gone before us. Special thanks to the staff of Clarion Nursing Home and the Cardiology Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave. Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Service Thursday at 7:15 p.m. Fred's life will be celebrated at a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 934 Highway #8, Winona on Friday, July 10th at 10 a.m. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery. In Fred's memory, donations to St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation, Medical Research would be appreciated by the family.
