Obituary of Lillian (Betty) Elizabeth Barker

BARKER, Lillian Elizabeth (Betty) Peacefully at her residence on Monday, August 16, 2010 in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband Roy. Survived by her children Linda Stewart (Frank) and Larry (Jan). Cherished grandmother of Clint Purnell (Julie), Darren Purnell (Angela), Brad Purnell (Terry Lynn), Emily and Mattie Barker. Betty will be missed by her much loved sister Shirley Curtis, two step-daughters Mary Camille Lambert (Harry) and Robin Irwin (Pat), seven great-grandchildren and the whole gang up at the farm. Betty was a former member of the “Hilltop Loafers” best neighbourhood ever. A tireless volunteer, Betty donated her time and money to all good causes, most notably Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics, driving cancer patients and most recently the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice to which any expressions of sympathy may be sent. For Betty, it was time well spent. Special thanks to CBI Home Health PSW’s for helping us to keep Betty in her home. Cremation has taken place.
