Obituary of Marjorie Evelyn Leavens

LEAVENS, Marjorie Evelyn At the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 18, 2010, in her 95th year. Daughter of the late James and Jane Summers of Welland. Marjorie was a longtime resident of Stoney Creek, and a former president of the Saltfleet Women’s Institute, as well as a past member of the I.O.D.E. and Canada Flag Day Committee. Predeceased by her husband Charles (1978) and brother Jim (1978). She is survived by sons Richard (Dianne) of Ottawa, Jim (Rae) of Beamsville, John (Sue) of Calgary and daughter Barbara Gibson (Larry) of Grimsby. Also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, on Monday, March 22nd from 7-9 p.m. A private family interment to take place prior to a Memorial Service which will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 23rd at 1 p.m. In Marjorie’s memory, donations to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby or the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, Hamilton would be appreciated.
