Obituary of Betty LaRae Laidman

LAIDMAN, Betty LaRae (Kinsman) Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital, on March 26, 2009 in her 80th year. Beloved wife of Elwood for over 58 years. Dearly loved mother of Larry (Agnes), Lloyd (Marie), Valerie (Michael Haslam) and the late Noreen (1984). Grandma will be missed by her loving grandchildren Holly (Mathieu Goulet), Brandon, Steven, Ryan and Brent. “Gamma” will also be missed by her great-granddaughter Nicole. Cherished sister of Jack (Marion) Kinsman, Joan (Ted Shelley), the late Richard (Dorothy) Kinsman and sister-in-law Lenora (Ron Young). Betty loved and cherished the special friendship of Lorne and Lois Mitchell. Betty and Elwood founded and operated the family business “Elwood Laidman Plumbing and Heating” since 1954. Betty was a dedicated Sunday School pianist and teacher for over 20 years at Binbrook United Church. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Binbrook United Church on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Binbrook United Church or Canadian Cancer Society would appreciated.
