Obituary of Richard Labatte

LABATTE, Richard It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the passing of our much loved husband and father, Richard Lloyd Labatte on Friday April 3, 2009 in his 78th year. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Faye (nee Dew). Cherished father of Kimberley Labatte, Shelley and her husband Jamie Hall, Gary Labatte and his wife Barbara. Beloved grandfather of Nikita and Nathan Hamelin, Christian Jolicoeur, Austin Hall and Kennedy Labatte. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Theresa Kennedy, Helen Horner and her husband Don, Jacqueline Labatte from Skead, along with many nieces and nephews. Special friend of Anne Lasanowski and family. Richard courageously fought his many health problems with great dignity. He was a man of few words who enjoyed life whole heartedly. Until his illness he was an avid golfer at Lynn Meadows Golf and Country Club in Port Dover and his snooker playing at Winona seniors and the Shoreliner. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 10am. In Richard’s memory, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by his family.
