Obituary of Kerri-Lyn Marie Shaw

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Kerri-Lyn Shaw, on January 23rd, 2024 in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 51.  Kerri is survived by her husband David Piccioni, and their loving rescue dog Hannah. Heartbroken are her parents, Bill and Marilyn Shaw, and her sister Jodi (Henry). Loved daughter-in-law to Domenic and Claire Piccioni, sister-in-law to Laurie (George), Kathleen (Brian) and Elizabeth. She will be missed by her much loved nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Waiting to welcome her home will be her dear furbabies: Otto, Sneekers and Chesney.

Kerri wore her heart on her sleeve, and was very giving and kind in all aspects of her life. She worked as a Child and Youth Worker supporting vulnerable youth with the Halton Catholic District School Board. She loved all animals, and over the years devoted so much of her time and energy as a supporter and a voice for the protection of animal rights.  Kerri was also a huge advocate of mental health and was open about her own struggles in an effort to help others.

Arrangements are entrusted to Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, at 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, February 10th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association , The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, or an animal rescue of your choice in Kerri’s name.
