Emil passed away at his new home in Burlington, Ontario on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in his 88th year. Devoted husband to Kathy (predeceased) for fifty-seven wonderful years. Survived by his loving children, Mary (James), Nick (Val), Theresa, Chris (Brenda) and Jamie (Antonietta). Adored Grandpa of Arielle, Elise, Aléka, Nathaniel, Kathleen and Spencer. Of course, he will be sadly missed by his feline companion, Sassy.

Cherished brother of Steve Zamora (Val, predeceased) and Walter Zamora (Joan, predeceased), cousin to the late Bernice Lezon, and uncle to their extended families. Also, dear uncle to the Julian and Taggart families. Beloved brother-in-law to Trish Lore (Chris), Vicky Shegda (Fred) and Paul Sanderson (Josette, predeceased). Predeceased by his loving parents, Nicolas and Antonina Zamora.

Emil graduated from Psychiatry at Ohio State University after completing his medical degree from Queen’s University in 1960. His career lasted well over 50 years starting at Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital, followed by St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and McMaster University, where he was an Associate Clinical Professor training the next generation. Throughout his private practice and academic career, he built long-lasting friendships and had a positive impact on many lives. Emil’s loving, charismatic and compassionate personality resonated throughout his work and personal life. Dad will be dearly missed by the many hearts he touched.

A sincere thanks to his dear friends, Wendy and Ken, Tony and Lucy, Richard and the wonderful staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre and Chartwell Lakeshore Retirement Community, all of whom will be remembered for the care they provided in his time of need.
