Oh my goodness, I'm so sad that I missed her celebration of life, as I just found out.
Judith was absolutely wonderful. I used to joke that she was Walter Mitty, because she had truly done so many things and seemed to know everyone.
Our family got to know her through ROCK when she was working with my oldest, Jax.
Jax had complex trauma and diagnosies. Judith was such a wonderful help. She was connected to everyone. I always laughed. I'd say "Oh we are being connected with XYZ" she would say "Oh! I know them! We worked together xyz" she would have them as a contact in her phone and speak to them directly to expedite the process.
I tried to find contact information for her the last couple of years. Jax is doing so well. He has been completely stable for years and doesn't even need the many supports she helped put in place.
If you would have told me 4 years ago we'd be where we are now, I wouldn't have believed you at all.
Judith played such a big role in our lives. She was so selfless and kind. Often coming to visit in the hospital after hours. She once even drove all around after work to get me a phone charger when I was stuck in the ER with a dead phone.
Even sitting with Jax so I could just take a break to walk around.
I was speaking to her on the phone when she got the news. She put me on hold to take a call from the specialist.
She was always so optimistic, positive and kind.
I so wish she could see how great Jax (and Willow) are doing now. I know for sure we have another angel to watch over us now.
I will keep her family in my thoughts. ❤️

Judith was a fun loving out going caring and very charming young lady. I have know her for such a long time I cant believe she is not around any more. She was very much loved with our hockey club in Nottingham where she worked as a bar person at Wilford Sports Complex.
Rosie, as we all named her with in the club was always there for you. When she decided to emigrate to Canada, I was gutted but also very pleased for her, it just summed her up, get up and go type of girl. We kept in touch and she would always send me one of her hand made birthday cards without fail.
It still hasn't sunk in that she wont be about anymore :-(
Condolences to all her friends and family, she will be missed always.
R.I.P Rosie xx

To know Judith was to love Judith. Her laugh, her smile, her strength and her kindness were always in tact. I first met Judith at a Christmas dinner for her nanny agency. I knew she worked next door to Sylvia who was also a nanny. So, at the dinner buffet line we end up behind Judith and her friend Tracy. I knew her enough to say a casual hello but this was a party so I found my bravado. She was in front of me putting her plate together. I said to her " speed it up lady, you're holding up the line". She looked me in the eyes and said " Piss off! ". I turned Sylvia and said... " I like her! She's my kind of lady! .....the rest was history. Just a remarkable human being, a sweet friend and a blessing in our lives. God bless you Judith, heaven just got a little bit brighter. You are a beautiful soul who graced my life and so many other lives. You will always be in my heart.

I met Judith 26 years ago as a Nanny. We became friends and our friendship grew more and more over the years. She was perfect. Her love'n friendship will always stay with me. And it's wonderful that I have met other great people through Judith ; especially her mum Josie. My heart goes out to her Family and all the other close friends as through my pain of loss I can only imagine theirs. Judith's love will continue to shine and always be here. I miss her so much; until I meet her again. Love & Light ; always, Sylvia R.

I met Judith in 1994 when I moved to Canada to work as a nanny. From our 1st outing to Canada's Wonderland she introduced me to a lot of great people and I was included immediately. Judith and I shared a lot of great times together and lots of memories made. Her love for travel took me on some great trips which I've never forgotten.
My heart goes out to Josie, Judith's family and close friends. Rest in peace my friend. Love always. Tracy

So many memories with Judith when I visited Toronto over the last 10 years. So many I don’t even know where to begin. One thing I will always remember is the laughs along with her best friends David and Kevin. Hard to believe you are gone. Rest in peace my wonderful friend x

Judith and I were nannies in the mid to late nineties. Two brits. She recognized my silly antics and constantly rolled her eyes in my direction. I have a vivid scene in my head that I'd like to share.
The nannies would often hang out at Tailgate Charlies in Hamilton. Playing pool, having a drink and a dance and a laugh. I went to the loo and this bloke followed me in. He just stood there staring. The door opens and in walks Judith. She folds her arms and gives him a rather stern look as if to say
" what are you gonna do?"
Well, that man ran so fast out of the ladies loo! Not a word was spoken.
Judith you saved me that night. Cheers!

Judith was such a great friend and was always there for me. We loved to craft together and she had a key to my house and often spent time in my craft room when we were away. I’ll always remember Judith for her love of snow (even though I hate it), her upbeat attitude, her love of chocolate, penguins and all things Winnie the Pooh. She also had a great sock collection that we loved to add to. Rest in Peace my friend. We will miss you.
Love Betsy and Jim.

Judith and I met 30 years ago when we both arrived in Canada from opposite sides of the world to have the adventure of being nannies. From the moment we met, we became best friends. If we weren’t working, we were making the most of our time in Canada. I have always thought of her as my sister, even after I moved back to Australia and we had to rely on writing letters to keep in touch because overseas phone calls were too expensive to be made at anytime other than ‘special’ occasions. She will be missed by me and my family but I have no doubt that our paths will cross again in the afterlife. She’ll probably be greeting me at the pearly gates and introducing me to everyone up there as ‘Leanne, my friend from Australia’.

I met Judith working at Syl Apps, I had my son while we were on strike. I’d go down to the picket line and she loved to have my son, and he loved to snuggle and sleep on her. Gave me a break and always a great person on and off work. Years later Covid lockdown Judith again helped me. Judith was always one with such kindness, compassion and care for others. Prayers and rest in peace.

I met Judith Oldfield when I was 15 years old. She took me in as a foster mum. I remember I kept pushing her, to her limits and made a lot of decisions that was not the greatest. However, even though I pushed her limits she did not give up on me she continued to support and show me love. I knew at that time she was my mum and I wanted to call her mum for the rest of my life. Mum and I would spend our time with each other watching my show (even though she wasn’t interested in it). and what mum liked such as Harry Potter (all eight of them). Mum was my person, I told her all my good and bad secrets. She helped and guided me through my life, mum taught me so much and helped me be a better version of myself. Mum also helped Bryan and I through tough times. She was definitely a super woman, creative, supportive, kind, caring, and adventurous. Mum was the most important person to me and her grandchildren. I am so thankful that I had mum in my life, who gave me the feeling on how it feels to have a mother and my daughters gained a grand-mum.
With heavy heart, I am sad that everyone had to lost such incredible person. I am happy she is in peace now. We love you so very much.

Judith and I met working in social services. She was a CYW Student on placement and asked to shadow a case I had. We became fast friends and forged and unbreakable bond. We were there for each other over the years - through the good and the bad. She was a once in a lifetime friend. She stood up for me when I married my husband. She helped me move. She even took us in during the pandemic when we had a two week lapse between properties. Many trips to the beaches. Camping over my birthday weekend. Impromptu trips for Demetres desserts. Her love of Galaxy Chocolate. Her 50 birthday pandemic party in our backyard with egg timers to limit guest visits to comply with lockdown rules. The memories are plentiful….. and every single one of them puts a smile on my face. She was truly and incredible woman. I am certainly a better person for knowing her. I am happy that she’s able to rest peacefully, the emotional and physical pain is behind her and she can now live in eternal peace. She won’t need to earn her wings in heaven because she earned them already on earth. There’s no doubt in my mind that they were waiting for her when she arrived! Rest peacefully my friend. Love and Friendship, Dave.

Judith and I worked together at Aberdeen House in Oakville, Ontario in the early years of the 2000's. Her positive outlook and passion working with children and families was incredible. Her friendly demeanor was received well and help her be so successful in her duties as a Child and Youth Worker. A wonderful person gone far too soon. The world needs more Judith Oldfield's as it would be a much better world. My thoughts are with her many family and friends as they mourn her loss. May she RIP.

Judith's and my paths crossed often through our long associations with Girl Guides of Canada. The many girls in the organization, whose lives she touched, were so fortunate to see her leadership in action. Judith had an enormous fun side, embracing life with enthusiasm and a great sense of humour. She also had a serious side, when it came to principles and values. Her standards were very high regarding responsibilities and integrity.
Judith's life was cut short, but she had already packed enormous spirit and adventure into all that she did. Her legacy will live on in the young women she influenced in Guiding and in her career, counselling youth in need of guidance. I extend my sincere sympathy to her wonderful mother, Josie and all of Judith's family.
