Obituary of Doris Merritt-Montgomery

MERRITT-MONTGOMERY, Doris (Weaver) – Peacefully at The Heritage Green Nursing Home on Friday, January 6, 2017, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley C. Merritt and the late Dr. Bill Montgomery. Loving and Proud mother of Suzi (Abe), Wendy (Bill), and Richard (Anita). Dear grandma of Zachary (Jenna), Jacob, Katelyn, Michael, Daniel, Alex and Benson. Predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Lorraine Weaver (1942). Doris worked as a true partner side by side on Maplebend Farm with her loving husband Stan. Doris was proud of her family and home, always ready with a hot cup of tea and apple pie. A great dirty joke teller and euchre player. Doris never tired of hearing of her family’s adventures and those big family meals where all the news was shared. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, January 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment Ker United Church Cemetery.As per Doris’ wish, in lieu of flowers, donations should be directed to “The Heritage Building and Repair Fund” at Ker Church.
