Obituary of Alfred Alexander Crooker
CROOKER, Alfred
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Alfred Alexander Crooker on October 2nd, 2017 at the age of 92. Alfred is predeceased by his wife Gloria, who he was happily married to for 65 years. Alfred served in the Navy, was a former President of the Stoney Creek Minor Hockey League, and Dofasco employee, in addition to being an Original Hamilton Tiger-Cat and the owner of Plaza Motors. Alf will be deeply missed by his children; Mary Ann, Larry (Judi) and Ken, and grandchildren; Tara (Anthony), Shauna (Phil), Rachael, Monica, Alexandra, Victoria, Rio, Jake, Tessa, Joey and great-grandchildren Abigail, Madeline and Gabriella, and his sisters Joan and Marianne (pre-deceased by Wray, Dorothy, Helen, Evelyn) and cousin Shirley-Anne. Alf will be remembered for his deep sense of community, generosity, loyalty and kindness. We would like to thank the staff at New Village Retirement Home and Macassa Lodge for all of the wonderful loving care they provided for both Alfred and Gloria in their later years. They were able to live out the last years of their lives with pride, love and dignity as a result of the phenomenal care at both facilities. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, October 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1 p.m. In Alfred’s memory donations to Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
