Olivera Skoric Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olivera (Vera) Skoric.

Vibrant, funny, warm, and incredibly lovable, Vera charmed her way into the hearts of everyone she met. She was a woman ahead of her time. Her determination, strength, and unwavering work ethic enabled her to successfully run her own business during an era when opportunities for women were far more limited than they are today. She stood her ground, spoke her mind, and never allowed anyone to tell her what she could or could not do. "No" was never an option. She was determined, resourceful, and almost always found a way to achieve what she set out to accomplish.

An exceptional cook, baker, and gardener, Vera could take on just about any task and was never afraid to try something new. Her talents seemed endless, and she approached life with both curiosity and confidence.

Being a mother was her greatest joy. She loved her daughter, Daniela, unconditionally and gave everything she could to ensure her happiness and success. She worked tirelessly to provide opportunities that others could only dream of, often making sacrifices of her own without hesitation or complaint.

She was also a devoted aunt, helping her nephew, Dragan, navigate the challenges of starting a new life in Canada. Her guidance, support, and generosity made a lasting difference in the lives of those she loved.

Most importantly, Vera was a kind and compassionate soul. She had a deep love for animals, a generous heart, and a genuine desire to help others. Whether supporting family back home or donating to charitable causes, she was always thinking of those in need and looking for ways to make a difference.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Friday, October 2, from 5:00 p.m. until 800 p.m. Pomen at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas’ Serbian Orthodox Church, 1401 Barton St. E, Hamilton, on Saturday, October 3, at 10:00 a.m., with the Very Reverend Father Vojislav Pavlovic officiating. Vera's strength, generosity, humour, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
