We know there are many friends, extended family, church community, and others whose lives Dad touched over the years, and we wanted to share this sad news with those who may not have heard personally.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, Gilbert Mansfield Holloway, born March 24, 1947, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 79.

Dad’s life was filled with love, faith and family. He loved the Lord and faithfully served Him for over 50 years, living out that faith through his genuine love and care for others. He had a heart for people and a desire to encourage, support and help those around him.

Saying goodbye is incredibly difficult. He was deeply loved by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice, and by the family they built together. He was a much-loved father to Rodney and Karen, Andrea and Richard; a proud Grandpa to Brock and Angela, Kirsten and Trevor, Bryce and Sam, Alyson, Andrew, and Aleah; and a very special Great-Grandpa to Sophia, Annie, Hazel, Nevaeh, Beau, Brinley, and Mallory.

Dad’s family meant so much to him, and we are incredibly grateful for the years, memories, laughter and love we were blessed to share with him. His presence in our family will be deeply missed, and his place in our hearts can never be filled.

Our family would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the incredible nurses, staff and cardiac team in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Hamilton General Hospital who cared for Dad. We are so grateful for the exceptional care, kindness and compassion you showed him and our family during such a difficult time. Your care meant more to us than we can adequately express, and we will always be thankful.

Family and Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Victory International Church, 2799 Barton Street East, Hamilton, Ontario on Wednesday October 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

We love you, Dad. You will be missed more than words can say. But even in our sorrow, we are not without hope. We know this goodbye is not forever. We will see you again. ❤️
