Štefan Antolin Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, dedek, uncle and friend, Štefan Antolin, on August 25, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Odranci, Slovenia, Štefan lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, a deep appreciation for tradition, and an unwavering, fierce dedication to his family and culture.

For 59 wonderful years, Štefan was the devoted and loving husband of Francka (née Heric). Together, they built a life rooted in mutual respect, shared faith, and enduring love. He was a proud and supportive father to his son, David (Jenny, née Glavac). Quietly stoic and always ready to lend a steady hand, Štefan took immense pride in his family, offering timeless wisdom, guidance, and a stabilizing presence through all of life’s triumphs and challenges.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren - Joel, Adam, and Katrina - who brought immense joy to his life.

Štefan’s memory will also be held dear by his siblings: Ivan (Angela), Joseph (Albina), Rozalija (and the late Ante Čule), and the memories of his late brother Franc (the late Cecilija) and his late sister Marija (the late Martin Dominko). He is lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law Anica (late Florian) Miklavčič and Jožica (late Jožef) Raduha, alongside many dear friends in the Slovenian communities in Canada and Europe. He held a special place in his heart for his cherished nieces and nephews, treating each of them with deep empathy, kindness, and steadfast love.

Throughout his life, Štefan possessed a remarkable ability to anchor his passions around family, culture, and faith - the foundational pillars of Slovenian tradition. His deep devotion to the Virgin Mary guided his path, shaping a life lived with grace, integrity, and purpose. His love of nature and gardening was evident in his outdoor pursuits.

Whether he was working with his hands, sharing a story, singing traditional folk songs, or gathering with those he loved, Štefan’s warmth left a lasting mark on everyone privileged to know him. His steady, unshakeable presence made him the true cornerstone of the family - always placing his loved ones above all else.

The family wishes to extend their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their compassionate care, dignity, and support during Štefan’s battle, especially in his final days. Angels truly do walk among us.
