It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Gail Donoff (nee Harrell), grandmother, wife and sister who passed away peacefully at the age of 86. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Gail was predeceased by her husband, Roy, who passed away in 2015.

She is survived by her children, Brad, his wife Jacquie, and their daughters Sarah (husband Jordan) and Kelly (fiancé Ben); Craig, his wife Nadine, and their children Maxwell and Clarice; and her daughter Jennifer.

Gail was one of seven sisters Doloris Hull (Mike deceased), Vonnie Lee (Dennis deceased), Iris Robertson (Jim), Lucille Shedden (Wayne), Valerie (Ron) and pre-deceased by Berta Taylor (Gerry), and the bond she shared with them was one of the great joys of her life. She was always there to help — family, friends, or anyone who needed her — and she brought that same warmth wherever she went. Charming, charismatic, and full of life, Gail was the one who lit up every room and every party she was part of.

She built a remarkable career in the steel industry, first with Cold Metal Products and later as the founder of her own steel sales agency — a trailblazer who did it her way, with the same drive and charm that defined everything she did.

But nothing brought Gail more joy than her grandchildren. She loved being part of their lives — helping with reading, listening to piano practice, or sitting in the front row of a dance competition, faithfully saving seats for the family before the girls took the stage. From theatres across Canada to venues throughout the U.S., Gail was there — cheering, beaming with pride, and soaking up every moment.

Gail took great pride in her family and cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her love, strength, warmth, and devotion to her family will remain a lasting part of their lives.

She will be remembered with love by her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts and treasure the many years and memories they shared with her.

She is now reunited with Roy, her beloved husband and lifelong partner.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, August 30 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
