It is with deep sadness that the family of Joel O’Donnell announces his passing on Friday, August 21, 2026. Beloved husband of Leann for over 23 years, Joel was a devoted father to Lauren and Karisa (Matt). He was the cherished son of Tom and Sue, loving brother of Jim (Marg), Jeff (Mandy), and the late Jay (Michelle). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Thomas (Melody), Danielle (Jason), Christopher, Cydney (Aaron), Josh, Michael (Kendall), Quinn, Melissa (Dalton), Alison (Patrick), Shannon (Dom), and his great-nephew Colton, along with his extended family and many friends.  Joel will be missed by his aunts and uncles, Bill (Lee) Pearson, Ron (late Maureen) McKay, Joan (late Gord) O’Donnell and Dana Heddle.

Joel dedicated more than 20 years of service to Taylor Steel Inc., where he was respected for his strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication.

In April 2024, Joel was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer. He faced illness with courage and quiet strength, enduring surgeries and treatments while continuing to put the people he loved first.

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 3 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
